Also check the barrage of warning lights

It’s a Tacoma, so I’m assuming you’re thinking of selling it for $30,000 . No wait, I forgot about the warning lights, $29,999.99 then.

Hey, I got one of those things.

At least they gave you a temperature gauge. Two of my more recent automotive acquisitions have none. Only an idiot light.

If it’s anything like the temp gauge on my car, though, it’s not linear. Meaning, it sits in the very middle 99% of the time unless it’s not warmed up yet, or about to catastrophically overheat. Otherwise it never moves.
Maybe because it’s a Tacoma, it is more useful?

Probably because it’s a Toyota, it’s a dummy gauge, knowing most Toyota buyers will never notice it anyway.
Don’t take that as an insult.

The bonus is that you have a Toyota so you don’t have to worry about it overheating.

Ah yes. A typical 4runner fuel gauge. Dead on the bottom.

As long as it’s not a 2012 Corolla S.................

Is the needle close to the red? Approaching the red? Far from the red? Receding from the red? Closer to the red than normal?
The answer to any of these can be helpful information.

Just need some electrical tape and those lights will be solved. Should easily have another 100k in her. ;)

Surprisingly enough, that is one thing ( maybe the only thing ) 90s Mopars did not skimp on, all mine have legit temp gauges.

The gauges in the 1st generation Minis like mine are so bad they are almost worse than an idiot light. I can’t find it again now but I remember reading a forum post showing that the bottom of the middle tick was 170F and that the top was 230F.

Yeah, same here. Someone figured out how to reprogram the ones in the E46 to give you something between “OK” and “WARPED HEAD”

That’s crazy. The odometer should say 462,222 before those lights appear.
